President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the staff of Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov on the 110th anniversary of the institution's founding.

"By preserving and multiplying the traditions of domestic higher education, you are strengthening the status of one of the oldest Belarusian educational institutions with a rich history and a solid scientific base," the congratulatory message reads.

The Head of State noted that today time presents the university staff with global challenges: the training system for future specialists must meet the high demand for new competencies and modern knowledge. "It is important that graduates bring glory to their university not only as professionals but also as patriots," the President emphasized.

Alexander Lukashenko expressed his conviction that the skill, striving for innovation, and personal example of the university's teachers will contribute to the successful implementation of the main goals of state-building – the intellectual development of the nation and the preservation of Belarus's sovereignty.
