President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko made a working trip to Orsha
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko emphasizes that when addressing issues of operation of certain enterprises, he is primarily concerned about people – the employees of production facilities – and their salaries. The Head of State stressed this today during a trip to Orsha, where he is visiting the cheese production enterprise OOO "Savushkin-Orsha".
Upon arrival, the Head of State inquired about the enterprise's operations and development prospects. The modern production facility is gradually increasing its capacity, which means it needs both additional labor and raw materials.
Orsha also has a processed cheese plant with significant debts. Meanwhile, the plant's production volumes can be easily replaced under current conditions, and the employees there currently receive salaries that are, on average, one-third lower than at OOO "Savushkin-Orsha". It was noted that there is an opportunity to employ qualified specialists at the new enterprise, ensuring their income growth. Moreover, a certain amount of raw materials will be freed up. Alexander Lukashenko instructed to thoroughly work through the issue by the end of the year, decide whether to preserve the old production, what to do with the debts, and from which sources to repay them.
The President stressed that the main thing is people's incomes and highly efficient jobs. "I care about people," he said. "We must not abandon people. Sit down and solve this issue. We must work as we should from January 1. To the extent that, if necessary, we will involve the Mogilev region - a region for the raw material zone."
During his conversation with the enterprise's employees, the head of state returned to this issue again. "I know that you are short of 60-70 people here. They are even forced to be brought from Brest, as I was informed. We have a processed cheese plant. Of course, comparing that plant with this one is out of the question. Therefore, if Alexander Mikhailovich (owner of Savushkin Product and Santa Bremor companies Alexander Moshensky. - BELTA's note) takes on this burden and brings people here, ensures the production of that product, and oversees the raw material zone, then we will agree to create something new at that site, perhaps even change the direction. I have instructed them to work with them, to reach an agreement. I think people will gladly transfer because your salary is 30% higher than there. There, the salary is such that it should no longer be," emphasized Alexander Lukashenko.
The President added that enterprises like Savushkin-Orsha produce good products, get good money for them, and, accordingly, pull raw material zones behind them. "If there is no milk, the plant will not work. Therefore, you need to look after these collective farms and state farms that you have. Savushkin Product has 144 of them, here there are 23. I insist that if you are a processor (it doesn't matter if it's private or state-owned), you must process milk and look after the collective farms and state farms. If you are interested in the development of the raw material zone, then it will be good for the peasants and good for you. Therefore, a decision was made to support Alexander Moshensky and provide him with a raw material zone on the condition that it will be developed," the head of state said.
He added that the Vitebsk region would continue to work under such a system, it is already being established and results are expected from it. "The governor promises that there will be results," the Belarusian leader summed up.
Savushkin-Orsha LLC was established in October 2018. In December of the same year, the Orshansky Gorlachik enterprise with two sites in Orsha and Kopys became part of it. The total amount of investment investments since the acquisition amounted to over $41 million.
Currently, a new high-tech production site has been built from scratch on the site of the outdated production, which meets all international quality and safety standards for manufactured products. The site specializes in the production of fresh cheese, in demand on the market, under the Savushkin and Sveza brands.
Savushkin-Orsha LLC has already started producing the first fresh cheeses: feta and brynza (import substitution and in-demand export products). The initial capacity is 20 tons of fresh cheese per day. Adyghe, Queso Blanco, Caucasian, and Oltermanni cheeses are next. In addition, the installation of new mozzarella production lines will begin this autumn, with the launch planned for January 2021.
By the completion of the third stage of modernization in June 2021, the demand for raw materials at the Orsha site alone will increase to 600 tons per day. Therefore, one of the main tasks facing the company today is close cooperation, using existing experience, with the raw material zone farms located in the Orsha and Dubrovno districts of the Vitebsk region, to improve the quality and quantity of milk supplied for processing.
