On February 25, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 70 "On the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Vitebsk Region". This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

In order to increase the volume of agricultural production and utilize production capacities, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee has been granted the right, in agreement with the Council of Ministers, to form raw material zones and agro-industrial associations with the participation of organizations engaged in the processing and production of agricultural products. Organizations included in the raw material zone will conduct a unified production and financial accounting policy.

The decree provides for mechanisms for regulating financial relations between economic entities of the Vitebsk region (restructuring of obligations between enterprises and their creditors).

In addition, the document contains measures aimed at retaining personnel in rural areas, including support for young specialists.
