President of Belarus: the most important task of the five-year plan is to equalize social standards for urban and rural areas
At the republican seminar-meeting "Updating Methods and Forms of Work with the Population at the Local Level," the President of Belarus pointed out the need to improve social standards for rural areas in various areas. First of all, this concerns communication, which is also important for working with citizens' appeals. Alexander Lukashenko noted:

– I know that the adoption of amendments to the Law "On Citizens' and Legal Entities' Appeals" is in its final stage. It also includes a provision for wider use of the internet to facilitate the process of considering appeals. The citizen will see who specifically is handling their issue and for how long. These changes are important. We need to speed up.
The Head of State pointed out that the Ministry of Communications and Informatization has been granted new powers, and people are expecting results:
– Including in the issues of digital equality. Mobile operator services, "Beltelecom...""Ecoma", providing internet connection, access to cable and internet television, must be affordable, especially for residents of small towns and villages. These are issues of social standards for the population, the timely resolution of which in itself reduces the number of complaints and appeals. This approach should be ensured in all areas.
The President reminded the Government and local authorities:
– The most important task of the five-year plan is to equalize social standards for urban and rural areas. This applies tonot only communication services, but also the quality and coverage of transport, medical services. In the capital, they are an order of magnitude higher than in any district center or agro-town. And it is in the countryside that our food and, if you will, demographic security is formed. It is the foundation of the country's development.
