January 19, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The issue of the employer's responsibility will be decided during the investigation of the criminal case into the deaths of three people during the dismantling of a former farm in the Verkhnedvinsk district. This was stated today at a press conference by the Prosecutor of the Vitebsk region, Gennady Dysko, BELTA correspondent reports.
According to him, the deceased and injured workers were performing work in the interests of the enterprise. "In this case, we are talking about the employer's responsibility, that is, the representatives of the enterprise's administration," Gennady Dysko noted. An investigative and operational group of the regional prosecutor's office worked at the scene, and now the main volume of work is related to the documentation seized from the enterprise.
"Based on the results of the criminal case investigation, the guilty persons will be identified, and I have no doubt about it, as obvious signs of mismanagement are visible here," the regional prosecutor emphasized. In addition, the regional executive committee is considering the possibility of providing financial assistance to the families of those killed and injured in the farm collapse.
As reported, the tragedy occurred on January 17 in the village of Dubrovy at the former livestock farm of the agricultural enterprise "Kohanovichi". As a result of the roof collapse during the dismantling of the structure, three workers of the agricultural enterprise's construction crew died, and three more specialists received injuries of varying severity and were hospitalized in the central district hospital.
