Order acceptance for souvenir production via the internet has been implemented in a social institution of the Senno district

The Day Care Department for Disabled Persons of the Territorial Center for Social Services of the Population of the Sennensky District was the first in the Vitebsk region to accept orders for the production of souvenirs by disabled persons via the Internet. The director of the center, Tamara Smirnova, informed the participants of the republican seminar of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, which is taking place today in the Sennensky district, about this service.

"In the day care department for disabled persons of the TSSON, young people can acquire household skills and socialize. It is very important to acquire professional skills in labor workshops. We have a total of 11 clubs, circles, and workshops. And while we have been engaged in the production of various crafts and souvenirs with our wards for a long time, a relatively new direction has become sweet design, or the creation of bouquets and compositions from sweets. We sell them not only at fairs but also accept orders for their production via the Internet. Thus, we earn money to pay for the labor of our disabled persons and to purchase materials," explained Tamara Smirnova.

She is confident that although the amounts earned are not yet large, this is only the beginning. "It is important that the manufactured products are sold. The Ministry has made considerable efforts to ensure regulatory compliance for the sale of products manufactured in the process of therapeutic labor rehabilitation in social institutions. And today, in the Sennensky district, we have seen in practice that these legal acts are being implemented, and social services are not only financed by the state but also the services provided can generate financial resources for the development of the material and technical base and for awarding employees," emphasized the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Alexander Rumak, who is participating in the seminar.

A republican seminar on "Organization of Work on Providing Social Support to Veterans, Disabled Persons, and Elderly Citizens at Social Service Institutions of the Vitebsk Region" is taking place today in the Senno district. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection's holding of seminars on these issues has become a tradition. Similar events have been held in all other regions of Belarus. Representatives of the labor, employment, and social protection committees of regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, as well as social service institutions of Moscow, are participating in the seminar. They visited the day care unit for disabled persons, the 24-hour care unit for elderly citizens and disabled persons of the Territorial Center for Social Services of the Population of the Senno District. The final point of the route will be the Bogushevsk boarding school for children with psychophysical development features.

The seminar program includes a presentation of the implementation of new technologies and methods aimed at improving the health of older people, the quality of their lives, and new forms of residence for young people with psychophysical development features.
