The adventures of Latvians in the Braslav district resulted in a fine and deportation back home

August 8, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. The adventures of Latvians in the Braslav district resulted in a fine and expulsion to their homeland, the head of the press service of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment, Denis Glebko, told a BELTA correspondent.

While verifying operational information, Polotsk border guards detained two border violators. Latvians illegally crossed the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, moving from Lithuania to the territory of the Braslav district to visit their Belarusian relatives. The violators acted like real saboteurs from spy series: they moved on foot at night, crossed the river by boat, and then hid in the attic of an abandoned house in one of the border villages.

However, thanks to the professionalism of the Polotsk border guards and the active assistance of the local population, they were detained. The unfortunate guests were fined, after which they were expelled to Latvia.-0-
