Belarusian environmental legislation should be brought into line with pan-European standards - V. Tsalko

September 30, Vitebsk region /Natalia Ilyicheva - BELTA/. Belarus's legislation on the protection of fauna and flora needs to be brought into line with pan-European standards and approaches. This opinion was expressed by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus Vladimir Tsalko today at a seminar organized by the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, a BELTA correspondent reports. For example, in many countries around the world, such as the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Finland, the Baltic region countries, and others, amateur fishing is carried out on a paid basis, the minister noted. In these states, by analogy with the fee for a state license for hunting, a fee is charged for the right to amateur fishing, and a special document is issued, for example, a "Fisherman's Card". There are also problematic issues in the field of legislation on flora, Vladimir Tsalko stated. In particular, the issue of simplifying administrative procedures for obtaining the right to special use of flora objects by processors of wild plants (mushrooms, berries) requires a legal solution. For this, it is necessary to amend the law "On Flora," the minister believes. -0-
