Dear friends!

Today, the solemn opening of the XXII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" will take place on the stage of the Summer Amphitheater. The northern capital of Belarus welcomes participants and guests of the bright international forum from 31 countries of the world.

”Slavianski Bazaar“ has become a landmark event in the cultural life of Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. The main criterion for the festival's success is the growing audience interest in it.

This year, more than 60 concerts, performances, film screenings, exhibitions, and presentations will be held within the framework of the forum. The main concert venue, the Summer Amphitheater, celebrates its 25th anniversary. Here, at the epicenter of the festival, a new star will be opened on the Alley of Stars: People's Artist of the USSR Edita Piekha will be awarded the special prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus "Through Art – to Peace and Mutual Understanding".

The city and the region are traditionally preparing responsibly for the festival: Vitebsk streets and avenues, squares and parks are being improved and renovated, infrastructure is developing, and new cafes and restaurants are opening. During these July days, Vitebsk will host folk craft festivals "Gorod Maystrov" and "Belaruskae Padvor'e", the exhibition-fair "Vitebski Vernisazh" and "Zadzvinski Kirmaš", the event "Vitebsk Tourist", Youth Day, and other mass events. I am sure they will arouse genuine interest and leave the best memories for the guests and residents of the festival capital.

“Slavianski Bazaar“ is a unique cultural phenomenon in the post-Soviet space, which has become a hallmark of the Vitebsk region and all of Belarus, a symbol of the unity of Slavic peoples.

We are looking forward to encounters with art, beloved artists, and the discovery of new names. May the atmosphere of cordiality and hospitality triumph at all festival events!

I wish the participants and guests of the international cultural forum, and the residents of Vitebsk, vigor, good spirits, and bright and unforgettable impressions.

We once again joyfully say: hello, festival, and good luck!

Sincerely,

Alexander Kosinets,

Chairman of the Vitebsk

Regional Executive Committee
