Love confessions for the Valentine's Day card contest in Vitebsk were sent by participants aged 5 to 70
February 12, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The Valentine's Day card contest in Vitebsk has become another proof of the well-known saying that love knows no age. Participants aged 5 to 70 sent in their works with declarations of love, as reported to BELTA correspondent by Olga Okunevich, the head of the Vitebsk Art Museum.
The city-wide contest attracted the attention not only of Vitebsk residents but also of people from Postavy, Glubokoye, and Minsk. In total, about 100 works were received from 80 participants, including groups. However, the activity of the female half of humanity proved to be significantly higher than that of the male. Only two men dared to submit their works to the contest.
The originality of the Valentine's Day cards, made from straw, natural materials, wire, lace, drawings, and even men's deodorant bottles, as well as the wide age range of participants, forced the organizer - the Vitebsk Art Museum - to determine winners in the "children" and "adults" categories and introduce additional nominations: "Complex Technical Execution," "Most Original Work," "Most Fantastical Composition," "Most Romantic Declaration of Love," "Biggest Heart," "For Multifaceted Feelings," "Love Knows No Age." Prize-winning participants will receive annual, semi-annual, and monthly museum passes, respectively. Other authors will be rewarded with invitations to any exhibition.
Olga Okunevich noted that on Valentine's Day, all lovers will be able to arrange an unusual date. The museum will be open until 10 p.m. specifically for them. -0-
