Ghosts of the past will fill the Jesuit Collegium in Orsha during Museum Night
May 14, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Ghosts of the past will fill the Jesuit collegium in Orsha during Museum Night on May 22, the Museum Complex of History and Culture of the Orsha Region informed a BELTA correspondent.
On this day, all fans of history, magic, the world of fantasy, and adventure seekers will be able to fully immerse themselves in a mystical illusion. Upon approaching the collegium, those wishing to become participants in magical events will be met by ghosts of the past – the White Lady, the Black Monk, soldiers of Napoleon's army, fantastic cat-women, medieval knights, and beautiful maidens. Much of interest can also be seen within the walls of the ancient building: a photo exhibition capturing unusual phenomena will be held here, as well as an exposition of ancient artifacts whose purpose has not yet been precisely determined. Visitors will be able to express their assumptions and try to guess the contents of a black box.
The need to observe silence will be reminded by a strict mentor, a Jesuit teacher, who will conduct a Latin lesson with schoolchildren in a separate classroom. However, visitors will be given the opportunity to sit at a desk and demonstrate their knowledge of this subject. For success, they will be recognized and rewarded by Lev Sapieha, the Chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania himself.
Much unexpected and interesting awaits participants of the mystical night in other halls of the collegium. For example, in one of them, a long, multi-hour non-stop of cartoons about ghosts and magic will be held for cinema fans. In another, one can consult an oracle to learn the secrets of the past and future. Special caution should be exercised when visiting the horror room: it will be truly scary, the organizers of the phantasmagoria promise.
By the way, during Museum Night, the Jesuit collegium's clock will also operate according to its own rules: it will remind of the time much more often, and instead of the traditional chime of the clock tower, its "melody" will be the hooting of an owl, the howling of a wolf, and chilling sounds.
Museum Night has become a significant cultural event in Europe since 2005. Annually, it brings together over 2,000 museums in 40 countries. -0-
