A traffic jam of heavy trucks at the "Redki" checkpoint on the Belarusian-Russian border has stretched for 7 km

February 24, Dubrovensky district / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. A traffic jam of heavy trucks at the Belarusian-Russian border crossing point "Redki" has stretched for 7 km, a BELTA correspondent reports. According to the head of the "Redki" toll collection point, Alexander Moskalev, there is traditionally a large flow of cargo through this crossing point from Sunday to Wednesday. The queue of heavy trucks formed on February 23. On that day, the traffic jam stretched for 18 km. In Alexander Moskalev's opinion, the reason for what is happening was the four-day weekend in the Russian Federation. He suggested that the work of the customs crossing point was probably poorly organized. The interlocutor noted that after the Belarusian media promptly covered the situation at the border on February 23, the speed of traffic movement significantly increased, and the queue began to move. However, today from 7:30 to 9:00, traffic towards the Russian Federation was completely stopped, and then a slight movement began. As Algis Armonas, a truck driver traveling from Lithuania to Moscow, told a BELTA correspondent, he has been waiting in line since noon and hopes to cross the border today. The long-haul truck driver noted the prompt and business-like work of the Belarusian police, who help drivers manage traffic jams and maintain public order. Currently, about 200 vehicles with Russian, Belarusian, Lithuanian, Latvian, and Polish license plates have accumulated in the queue towards the Russian Federation. Passenger cars are moving without hindrance, and cars from the Russian Federation towards Belarus are also moving without hindrance. As reported at the "Ezerishche" crossing point (Gorodok district), a traffic jam of heavy trucks has also formed here. It has stretched for 3.5 km. -0-
