The problems of man in the modern world will be discussed at an international seminar in Vitebsk
May 12, Vitebsk / Sergei Kochetov - BELTA /. Problems of man in the modern world from the perspective of socio-humanities, the formation of spiritual and moral values, and issues of educational work with youth will be discussed at an international scientific and practical seminar, which will be held on May 14 at the Vitebsk State Technological University. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the university's vice-rector, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor Olga Chesnokova.
More than 150 scientists and university teachers from Belarus and Russia have shown interest in the event. The relevance of the topic is due to the need to rethink the fundamental foundations of human existence and develop new worldview values against the backdrop of the anthropological crisis that modern society is experiencing, believes Olga Chesnokova. "In this situation, complex questions arise: how to preserve the integrity of the human personality in the conditions of the breakdown of the traditional system of value priorities, how to curb aggressive and consumerist aspirations of man, what are the mechanisms for forming ideals of communicative unity of mankind," she noted. Some answers to these questions will be attempted by the seminar participants.
Problems of man and the actualization of spiritual and moral values will be considered from the point of view of sociology, political science, cultural studies, psychology, jurisprudence, and other humanities. The focus of specialists will also be on issues of organizing educational work with student youth as a priority area of activity in the educational sphere. Based on the results of the seminar, a collection of works is planned to be published.
