A trial shipment from China has arrived at the site of the future Orsha transport and logistics center

March 21, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. A trial shipment from China has arrived at the site of the future multimodal transport and logistics center (TLC), which is planned to be established on the territory of the Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant, and is undergoing customs clearance, Vladimir Troitsky, Director of OJSC "Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant", told BELTA correspondent. Thus, the Hong Kong company CBT Development (Logistik) Limited has completed the technical preparation of the investment project "Construction of a transport and logistics center of OJSC 'Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant'". A presentation of the project, prepared by the investor, is scheduled for the end of March, after which a contract for the creation of the TLC will be signed. The new TLC will be located at the intersection of the 2nd and 9th international transport corridors. The Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant has an airfield capable of handling aircraft of almost all types, and railway tracks are also located nearby. In the future, the logistics center will be able to handle cargo traffic from Warsaw, Tallinn, and other destinations. The territory development project includes new construction of warehouse terminals, an open area for storing containers and oversized goods, offices of bank branches, an insurance company, a business center, and a hotel. The area of the future logistics center will be about 100 thousand square meters. According to preliminary estimates, the project will require $50 million in investments. The payback period depends on cargo traffic: the higher it is, the shorter the payback period. In a favorable scenario, cargo traffic will double, and the payback period will be reduced from nine to three years. The investment attractiveness of the project, in addition to territorial, production, and technical advantages, is ensured by preferences granted by legal regulations for creating favorable operating conditions for existing and newly established enterprises in small towns, as well as by Decree No. 10. According to Vladimir Troitsky, the creation of the center will stimulate international air, rail, and road transport, develop and increase the utilization of the aircraft repair plant's infrastructure, and contribute to the development of the village of Bolbasovo, where the enterprise is located. CBT Development (Logistics) Limited (Hong Kong, People's Republic of China) has been delegated the powers of an investment agent of Belarus. It was established by a Singaporean public real estate investment fund and a private investment fund in infrastructure, real estate, and telecommunications specifically for the implementation of the TLC construction project on the territory of the aircraft repair plant near Orsha. -0-
