Food safety, pricing: Anatoly Linevich met with the asset of a technological university in Vitebsk

Belarus is provided with food products, which is evident from the good assortment in retail outlets. This was stated today by the President's Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Anatoly Linevich, at a meeting with the staff of the Vitebsk State Technological University during the Unified Information Day.

The meeting discussed issues of food security under economic sanctions, as well as import substitution. The discussion focused on ways to develop enterprises, the importance of producing one's own product, which would be sufficient both to meet the needs of Belarusians and for export supplies to partner countries. The dialogue was supported by about 100 young teachers and students of the university – primarily future economists. Addressing the youth, the President's Aide urged them to ask questions openly, express their opinions, and emphasized that no question would remain unanswered.

According to Anatoly Linevich, food security is the foundation of our country's overall security. "In addition to external threats, there is a primary internal threat – food security. We have no problems with this. We are 100% provided with our own food production, and this is evident from the saturation of retail outlets. It would seem that imported goods have left, but nothing has significantly changed (on the shelves. - Note by BELTA). Overall, the situation is stable, reliable, and predictable," concluded the President's Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region. He explained that today the focus is also on export-oriented production. And the main income from exports is provided by industry – about $40 billion in 8 months of 2022.

Students were concerned about the pricing of food products and other goods, which are under special control in each region following the President's instructions. Young specialists were interested in the prospects for the development of the nanoin-dustry and the possibility of creating more platforms where scientists could implement their projects.

Today, Vitebsk State Technological University has 3,000 students studying full-time and part-time. The university trains personnel for the light and textile industries, the economic sector, centers for standardization and metrology, design, IT, and other fields.
