The draft forecast of socio-economic development of Belarus for 2010 will be submitted to the President by October 1
September 23, Orsha / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The draft forecast of socio-economic development of Belarus for 2010 will be submitted for consideration by the President of Belarus by October 1. This was announced today to journalists by the Prime Minister of Belarus, Sergei Sidorsky, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent. He is familiarizing himself with the progress of the technical re-equipment of the Orsha Flax Combine.
The draft provides for two paths of economic development: a balanced, basic scenario, which assumes a gross domestic product growth rate of 102-103%, and an encouraging, promising scenario - at the level of 110-111%.
"The development of the Belarusian economy will depend on the activity of world markets," Sergei Sidorsky explained. Today, many countries, including Russia and the USA, have announced that they are emerging from the crisis. The exit from the crisis allows the government to count on the revival of markets and the global economy as a whole, and therefore on an increase in exports of Belarusian products.
Another factor for the optimistic development of the Belarusian economy will be the development of new sales markets, Sergei Sidorsky is confident. "We are convinced that in the markets of third countries - in Africa, Asia - there are niches where Belarusian products are in demand," he said. For example, the African continent needs up to 50,000 tractors. In fact, the entire tractor plant program can be sold, the Prime Minister explained. There are exactly the same needs for BelAZ, MAZ and other flagships' equipment. "These are new prospects, and they need to be developed rapidly, we need to move faster. The development of the economy will also depend on how we establish ourselves and gain a foothold on these continents," he emphasized. -0-
