November 25, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The draft Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Belarus for 2011-2015 is based on realistic calculations. This opinion was expressed to a BELTA correspondent by the Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, a participant in the IV All-Belarusian People's Congress, Viktor Nikolaikin, commenting on the main provisions of the document. According to him, the program sets ambitious but achievable goals. "Their attainability is evident. This is especially clear when looking at the economies of individual cities and districts. Even in Vitebsk, we see our reserves, by leveraging which we can achieve the results set by the development program for the next five-year period," Viktor Nikolaikin emphasized. The program covers all areas of activity and reveals the possibility of mobilizing the efforts of the entire nation and each individual. "If we work diligently, other issues will also be resolved, and then everything will work out for us," the head of the city is confident. The program should be further developed and specified at the local level, at the level of districts and cities, Viktor Nikolaikin added, noting that in this regard, the development program for the regional center for the next five-year period will be considered at a meeting of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee at the end of November. It will detail all the directions developed by the republican program and consider measures concerning each district, microdistrict, and enterprise of the city. -0-
