The urban forum "Prastora" project is being implemented in Vitebsk

The urban forum project "Prastora" is being implemented in Vitebsk to involve the public in the organization of urban spaces based on environmental principles, reported the project manager, director of the institution "Center for Urban Projects and Initiatives "Prastora" Oksana Kuzina.

"It all started with an initiative, grew into a program, the final point of which will be the urban forum "Prastora". Its project has already been published on the social platform "Talaka" to attract partners and participants. Also, the cultural and educational institution "Center for Urban Projects and Initiatives "Prastora" has been registered for the implementation of the project.

"We will revive the leisure culture in city parks together, based on the principles of environmental thinking, improve public spaces, and increase the tourist attractiveness of Vitebsk," - described the project tasks Oksana Kuzina. The forum includes 5 main and accompanying events, united by the common theme "Green Quarter", which will be held on May 21 in an open-air format. Activists and ordinary citizens, students and young architects, designers and artists, landscape designers and urban planners, musicians and other guests and experts will take part in them. The venue chosen is the Frunze Park of Culture and Recreation from the Millennium Bridge to the Bauman Bridge. The main venues will host the plein air competition of urban land art "Neskuchny Sad" (The Not Boring Garden), an exhibition of the competitive project of park furniture "Eco Design" (students of the 2nd-4th years of the Vitebsk State Technological University under the guidance of pedagogical curators have already joined the creative tasks), the restaurant day "Drugaya Yoda" (Different Food) and a concert marathon will be held.

"AhuRock" in support of the forum, exhibition-sale of flowers and bouquets "Flower Glade".

Exhibitions of volumetric textiles and floristry will be held in an open format at other venues. A series of master classes aimed at improving the qualifications of authors of socio-cultural initiatives in project writing and the use of crowdfunding platforms for their implementation has already been planned since February. The urban forum "Prastora" is a non-profit, public initiative, therefore Oksana Kuzina invites concerned citizens and sponsors to participate – everyone who is interested in the development of urban space and is ready to do something truly new and interesting. Negotiations are underway on partnership with urban media, and the "Ilva" tourist salon. The initiative has already received the support of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, which has prepared a draft decision on participation in the forum events.
