Projects with a total cost of over $700 million will be presented at the international investment forum in Vitebsk on July 15, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Economy Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. Among the priority projects for the region's economy and beneficial for investors, the committee's specialists named projects in the field of construction materials production, creation of logistics centers, and development of recreation and tourism infrastructure. In particular, a project is proposed for the creation of a new high-tech production facility for the output of construction materials using local raw materials: clay, dolomite, construction sand, and expanded clay. At the same time, the establishment of the enterprise is possible on an existing production base using operating quarries and infrastructure for the extraction and delivery of raw materials. The estimated investment volume for this project is over 10 million euros in the form of technological equipment. Another proposal is of significant importance for the successful development of the tourism business and envisages the construction of modern hotel complexes in Vitebsk and Polotsk. The project involves the construction and transfer of hotels for management by the investor. As the committee's specialists expect, holding the forum will attract foreign direct investment to the region and open credit lines for the purchase of equipment and technologies. Investors will be able to fully take advantage of the benefits provided by legislation on preferential taxation. The investment forum will be held during the International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk," thus, this year the festival will become a meeting place not only for artists but also for businessmen from different countries for the first time. The upcoming business forum will be the second this year. The first was held in March. At that time, over 100 investment proposals were presented, and businessmen from almost 20 countries participated in the forum. During business meetings, 44 contracts and agreements were concluded with a total investment volume of $350 million. -0-
