The land management service of the Vitebsk region will celebrate its professional holiday

Профессиональный праздник отметит землеустроительная служба Витебской области
February 21 marks the Day of Land Surveying and Cartographic-Geodetic Service Workers in Belarus. In the Vitebsk region, over 100 specialists will celebrate their professional holiday, whose skill, responsibility, and experience are the key to preserving and carefully using the land resources of their native region.

According to Igor Levenkov, Head of the Land Management Department of the Regional Executive Committee, the main duty of the structure's specialists is to control the use and protection of land.

The service specialists controlled the proper condition of plots along highways. In the right-of-way, woody and shrubby vegetation has been cleared and grubbed over an area of 180 hectares. For improper maintenance of territories along roads, 175 orders to eliminate violations have been issued.

In the rural settlements of the Vitebsk region, almost 470 dilapidated and vacant houses were demolished, and decisions on further use were made by rural executive committees for 411 plots. 122 land plots were sold at auction, including 94 for the construction and maintenance of residential buildings. The largest number is in the Vitebsk, Braslav, Orsha, and Lepel districts. 224 plots are offered to those who wish to acquire land through auction for the construction of their own housing. The list can be found on the websites of city and district executive committees.

The staff of the Land Management Department of the Regional Executive Committee (in the photo) congratulates colleagues on their professional holiday, who perform a wide variety of tasks in improving land relations, solving economic development issues, and inventorying and assessing real estate. Veterans of the service, who have made a significant contribution to preserving the main wealth of our country for future generations, deserve special words.

In 2019, 44 officials and 17 legal entities were brought to administrative responsibility for uncultivated agricultural land. As part of the cleanup of the land, 547 hectares were put into agricultural circulation.
