A US professor will give lectures on contemporary American art at the Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk

March 23, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Professor Mila Marsh from Los Angeles specially flew in from the USA to showcase her works and give lectures on contemporary American art at the Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk. She told reporters about this at the opening ceremony, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. "Exhibiting at the Marc Chagall Museum is a great honor for any artist. Seeing my works alongside the creations of the world-renowned Marc Chagall inspires you and imbues you with his romanticism," said Mila Marsh. She brought several dozen of her works to Vitebsk, executed in her author's technique. The main theme of her creations is the transformation of the surrounding space by architecture and the relationship between architecture and living nature. Over two days, March 23 and 24, the artist will give lectures at the museum dedicated to contemporary American art for students of art specialties at Vitebsk universities. According to Lyudmila Khmelnitskaya, director of the Marc Chagall Museum, the interest of foreign authors in exhibiting their works at the Vitebsk Marc Chagall Art Center indicates that over the 20 years of its existence, the museum has gained significant authority in art circles far beyond Belarus. Such cooperation allows the museum to introduce Vitebsk residents and city guests more broadly to the achievements of contemporary world culture. Mila Marsh (born Lyudmila Kochergina) graduated from the Vitebsk Technological Institute of Light Industry (now Vitebsk State Technological University) with a degree in "designer" in 1992, and then continued her art education in the USA. Currently, Mila Marsh is a professor, teaching art disciplines at a private university in Los Angeles, and is actively involved in exhibitions. In 2006, she was the curator of an exhibition of American artists, which was displayed in Minsk at the Museum of Modern Art. -0-
