This opinion was expressed today by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets at a coordination meeting on combating crime and corruption in the region, according to a BELTA correspondent. According to Alexander Kosinets, the entire role of trade union organizations in the region has been reduced to issuing congratulatory certificates and gifts for holidays. "Meanwhile, you are obliged to deal with issues of compliance with legislation, prevention of offenses in the work collective, labor protection, and employee health improvement. Where is all this? What are you getting paid for?" the governor asked the chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Trade Union Association Alexander Tsylyov, noting that the public does not see the real work of the trade unions. In connection with the current situation, Alexander Kosinets instructed to develop a specific mechanism for the action and work of the trade union association, paying primary attention to the issues of preventing industrial injuries and violations of labor discipline. -0-
