The development program of the Rossony district was adopted by the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee

June 24, Rossony / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Increasing the population of the Rossony district is the main goal of the district's socio-economic development program. This task was defined today at a field meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by its chairman, Alexander Kosinets, reports a BELTA correspondent. The population of the Rossony district has been steadily decreasing in recent years. According to the latest census, the district, which ranks eighth in area among the 21 districts of the region, has a population of just over 11,000 people, with 47% of them living in the town of Rossony. The working-age population is about 6,000 people. The district experiences an acute shortage of both specialists and workers in mass professions. According to Alexander Kosinets, by 2015 the population of the district could reach about 20,000 people. However, this requires creating socio-economic conditions for people: providing them with jobs, a decent wage level, and creating social infrastructure, he stressed. In this regard, a development program for the period up to 2015 has been developed in the Rossony district, which was submitted for consideration by the regional executive committee. The main directions of the program concern the development of industry and agriculture. In particular, industry focuses on supporting small businesses. The district executive committee is interested in and ready to support one of the private enterprises specializing in the harvesting and freezing of wild berries and mushrooms in the creation of a canning and processing plant. Work will continue on the creation of woodworking enterprises. In agriculture, the construction of one dairy farm in each of the six agricultural enterprises is planned. The development of agro-ecotourism also remains a priority in the district's economy. The implementation of the program will ensure a 1.2-fold increase in industrial production volumes in the district compared to 2009, and a 1.7-fold increase in exports. -0-
