Programs for the recovery of Belarusian children in Great Britain will be continued

October 22, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. About 3,000 Belarusian children go to the UK for health improvement annually, said Rosemary Thomas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Belarus, told reporters today, answering a question from a BELTA correspondent. The Ambassador is on an introductory visit to the Vitebsk region. Health improvement programs will continue next year, the ambassador said. "British families have long and willingly hosted Belarusian children. Many of them have warm friendly relations, they look forward to meeting each other," added Rosemary Thomas. In 2009, the Republic of Belarus and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland concluded an intergovernmental agreement on the terms of health improvement for minor Belarusian citizens in the UK. The agreement was concluded by an exchange of notes between the foreign ministries of Belarus and the UK. The document created a legal basis for the further implementation of health improvement programs for Belarusian children in the United Kingdom. Belarus has similar agreements with more than 10 countries. -0-
