The production of briquettes from flax shives has been established at five flax processing plants in the Vitebsk region
April 1, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Production of briquettes from flax shives has been established at five flax processing plants in the Vitebsk region, BELTA was informed by the Vitebskobllenn OJSC.
Presses for briquetting of Lithuanian production, costing 54 thousand euros each, have been installed in the auxiliary workshops at the Postavy, Verkhnedvinsk, Miory, Kokhanovo (Tolochnsky district) and Orekhovo (Orshansky district) flax processing plants. They were purchased during the winter period using funds from the republican budget.
The capacity of each press allows for the production of up to 450 kg of products per hour. For now, the plants are just mastering the new equipment. In January-February, 165 tons of flax briquettes were produced for a total amount of Br42 million. The products were sold to the population and housing and communal services enterprises. In the future, the enterprises also plan to establish export supplies.
The implementation of the project is driven by the need to involve flax shives in industrial circulation, which previously remained at the flax processing plants as waste from the main production or was partially burned. "The production of briquettes will allow enterprises to gain additional benefits and organize closed-loop production," the association noted.
The payback period for the projects is about five years.
Vitebskobllenn OJSC includes 19 flax processing plants in the region, employing about 2.1 thousand people. -0-
