The production of medical furniture is planned to be created in the FEZ "Vitebsk" with the participation of Italian investors

May 6, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA /. Production of medical furniture and ambulance interiors is planned to be established in the FEZ "Vitebsk" with the participation of Italian investors. This was announced today to journalists by one of the participants of the investment project, Director of Grandiscar LLC Yuri Lyubimov, reports a BELTA correspondent. The Belarusian-Russian enterprise "Grandiscar" is creating a production of special vehicles based on the chassis of a number of Western automotive brands in the Vitebsk FEZ. Among the vehicles produced will be ambulances. It is planned to produce interiors for them at a separate, new enterprise, in the creation of which Italian investors have shown interest. "The implementation of this project will allow Grandiscar to achieve European quality of ambulance interiors, both in terms of ergonomics and aesthetic design, and the use of modern materials will reduce the cost of Belarusian ambulances and, accordingly, increase their competitiveness," Yuri Lyubimov is confident. Russian and Belarusian investors will act as co-founders of the new enterprise. The estimated cost of the project is preliminarily estimated at 4 million euros. It is expected that the Italian founder will supply specialized equipment worth about 2 million euros, as well as their own developments. In addition to the production of interiors for ambulances, the joint venture will produce medical furniture for stationary medical institutions. Cooperation with Italian investors will help promote Belarusian ambulances in the European market. "Such cooperation will make it possible to produce a vehicle in full compliance with European quality requirements, but at about 30% cheaper than European counterparts, which will favorably affect the competitiveness of the Belarusian vehicle," noted Yuri Lyubimov. The Belarusian-Russian LLC "Grandiscar" is creating a production of special-purpose vehicles in the FEZ "Vitebsk" with an annual capacity of up to 5 thousand vehicles worth about $15 million. In the first stage, investors organized the production of special equipment in rented premises, then their own plant with a total area of about 5 thousand square meters will be built. The production portfolio of "Grandiscar" includes the production of ambulances, special vehicles for law enforcement agencies, minibuses and a number of other configurations based on Volkswagen, Ford chassis, and in the future - Iveco and Belarusian automotive brands. In 2011, "Grandiscar" will produce about 300 vehicles mainly for Belarusian customers. The company intends to enter the Russian and CIS markets as well. -0-
