The production of pellets is planned to be established at the site of the former Polotsk Raypo auto-depot

The production of pellets is planned to be established at the site of the former Polotsk district consumer union's motor transport enterprise, which was liquidated by decision of the Vitebsk region economic court, reported Valery Baikov, the bankruptcy trustee of the district consumer union.

The property complex "Motor Transport Enterprise of Polotsk District Consumer Union with Appurtenances" was acquired at auction by Concord-Eco LLC for more than Br395.2 thousand. The lot included seven capital buildings, including a dispatcher's office, a former welding shop, garages, as well as equipment and inventory on a land plot of over 3 hectares. The new owner has already begun the reconstruction of the production base. The investor plans to create and launch pellet production with an annual capacity of 120 thousand tons by 2023. This will allow the involvement of unused property and land in economic circulation, as well as create additional jobs and attract foreign investment to the region's economy, noted Valery Baikov.

During the liquidation proceedings, the crisis manager organized the sale of movable and immovable property through auctions and direct sales. A total of 25 tenders were held, as a result of which about 40 buildings and structures found new owners. By agreement with the general meeting of creditors, a shop premises in Polotsk was sold by direct sale, which allowed for the prompt settlement of wage arrears to employees in the amount of about Br50 thousand, as well as settlement of other social obligations of the consumer union to individuals for Br240 thousand. In addition, the distribution of the debtor's property against creditors' claims made it possible to pay off debts in the amount of about Br844 thousand. With the assistance of the Vitebsk Union of Consumer Societies and the Polotsk District Executive Committee, 35 buildings of former shops and warehouses in the Polotsk district were sold, as well as 13 vehicles, including mobile shops. Consumer cooperation organizations acted as buyers. As a result, it was possible to maintain trade services in the region, including in sparsely populated areas, noted Valery Baikov.

According to the press service of the Vitebsk Regional Economic Court, bankruptcy proceedings against Polotsk consumer society were initiated in September 2018 upon the debtor's application. In December 2018, the organization was declared economically insolvent, and a liquidation procedure was opened for the consumer society for a period of 12 months, which was extended until August 2020. As a result of collecting accounts receivable, selling assets, and transferring property to creditors in lieu of debt, the crisis manager managed to fully pay off the debtor's current payments totaling over Br785 thousand, as well as satisfy creditors' claims totaling over Br2.036 million. About 40 real estate objects have been transferred to communal ownership.
