The production of high-voltage power cables was first mastered at the Vitebsk enterprise "Energokomplekt".

June 11, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Limited Liability Company "Production Association "Energokomplekt" from Vitebsk was the first in Belarus to master the production of medium and high-voltage power cables, the company's General Director Valery Kruchenkov told a BELTA correspondent. The new type of product is intended for the electric power industry and is import-substituting. According to Valery Kruchenkov, its development will reduce the import of similar products into Belarus by an average of $40 million-$50 million per year. The cable production is carried out on exclusive Finnish-made equipment using foreign and domestic raw materials. The cost of Belarusian medium and high-voltage cable will be on average 10% lower than the cost of similar products from foreign manufacturers. The production of medium and high-voltage cables is part of an investment project for the enterprise's development, scheduled for the period up to 2011. The total volume of planned investments is estimated at Br50 billion. Currently, the range of manufactured products includes over 6.5 thousand types and sizes. Cables produced at "Energokomplekt" are used in construction, electric power, communications, automotive, and oil and gas extraction. The company's products are sold in Belarus and Russia through its own dealer network. The products have Belarusian and Russian certificates confirming compliance with the quality management system requirements of STB ISO 9001-2001 and RST ISO 9001-2001. "Energokomplekt" is a member of the "Electrokabel" association, which unites 65 cable factories in the CIS countries, and is among the top ten largest. In January-April 2009, the enterprise produced industrial products at comparable prices worth Br68 billion. Products worth almost $8 million were exported. Investments in fixed assets amounted to about Br3 billion. Compared to the same period last year, the growth rates of production and exports have decreased. -0-
