The production of colored linen fabrics at the Orsha Linen Mill will double in 2011
March 2, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The production of colored linen fabrics at the Orsha Linen Mill will double this year, the first deputy chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Vladimir Novatsky, announced today at a press conference, according to a BELTA correspondent.
About Br500 billion will be invested in the modernization and technical re-equipment of RUPTP "Orsha Linen Mill" in 2011-2013. It is planned to purchase 700 units of new equipment, which will allow the enterprise to reach the level of similar European factories in terms of technical equipment. According to Vladimir Novatsky, equipment for the production of colored fabrics will be purchased first. Currently, they account for 10% of the total fabric output, while they are in demand by the garment industry. It is expected that this figure will double this year and reach 30% in 2012, which will increase the added value of the final product.
As Vladimir Novatsky noted, despite the fact that all products manufactured by the Orsha Linen Mill in the last year are successfully sold, the stocks accumulated in warehouses several years ago remain quite large. With a planned sales volume of warehouse stocks of Br22 billion in 2010, the enterprise sold Br12 billion. As of January 1, 2011, the volume of stocks in linear meters was 7 million, a decrease of 2 million linear meters compared to the beginning of 2010.
The Orsha Linen Mill is one of the leading enterprises in the light and textile industry of Belarus and other CIS countries, founded in 1930. It produces over 30 million linear meters of finished linen fabrics per year. The main range of finished products includes various table linen: tablecloths, napkins, towels and their sets; bed linen: sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers and sets; half-linen bedspreads. More than 120 branded stores and sections of the enterprise operate in Belarus. -0-
