Industrial enterprises have a significant impact on the development of the entire region. This was announced by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, during a regional meeting on the development of the industrial complex of the Vitebsk region, problematic issues of organizations, and ways to improve their efficiency.
— In the Vitebsk region, industrial enterprises have a significant impact on the development of the entire region. Today, over a thousand economic entities of various forms of ownership operate in the industry, accounting for more than 15 percent of the total republican production volume.
Over 5 years, it has been possible to maintain production volumes across the industry as a whole in comparable conditions compared to 2015, and to ensure the effective operation of the industrial complex. In all years of the past five-year period, a high share of shipped innovative products has been maintained. In 2020, industrial enterprises of the region produced and shipped innovative products worth 4.3 billion rubles. In the total volume, the share of innovative products was 32.8 percent.
There are reserves for improving work efficiency, increasing production volumes, reducing costs, and increasing product competitiveness at almost every enterprise, — noted Nikolai Sherstnev.
