The Gorodok poultry farm plans to build a biogas power plant
February 26, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Republican unitary agricultural enterprise "Gorodok Poultry Farm" plans to build a biogas energy plant, Deputy Director of the enterprise Boris Chechko told a BELTA correspondent.
The biogas energy plant is designed to process organic waste from poultry farms and livestock farms into biogas and biofertilizers through anaerobic digestion. The resulting biogas (methane) can be used in the power unit as fuel to generate electricity and heat for the needs of the farm.
The project cost is about 2 million euros. Its implementation will allow the enterprise to solve three issues at once: to organize a closed production cycle, reduce the cost of energy resources, and eliminate the waste disposal problem. "Familiarization with Germany's experience in organizing biogas production has shown the high efficiency of such projects. However, similar projects have not yet been implemented in Belarus," the deputy director noted.
In addition, the enterprise plans to master the production of liquid egg products, which are currently in high demand by enterprises of the food industry. For this purpose, it is planned to install a new technological line with a processing capacity of about 100 thousand eggs per shift. The project cost is 200 thousand euros.
To implement these projects, the poultry farm is looking for investors, so the proposals are presented at the international investment forum, which is taking place on February 25-26 in Vitebsk, added Boris Chechko.
In 2009, the enterprise produced products worth Br35.5 billion, which is 15% more compared to the same period in 2008. The energy saving indicator was minus 12.1% with a target of minus 12%. Export supplies were carried out only to Russia, where chicken eggs worth $2.4 million were shipped. The share of exports in the sales volume was 37.7%. Investments in production development over the past year reached Br6.1 billion. -0-
