On the eve of the New Year, cargo traffic and the movement of citizens across the border typically increase by 20-30 percent. In this regard, the Vitebsk Customs has made all arrangements to ensure that urgent cargo crosses the border without delay and reaches its destination. As reported by Irina Gorbachevskaya, Head of the Customs Control Organization Department of Vitebsk Customs, at the customs clearance point "Vitebsk - Central" (114 Lazo Street), which experiences the highest workload, employees will work without days off, and the number of shifts has been almost doubled with the organization of additional workplaces. In case of emergencies, such as the movement of perishable goods (flowers, fruits, etc.), customs officers can process documents outside of working hours by submitting an application to the customs service via fax or electronically. There have been no disruptions in the work of Vitebsk Customs, as noted by Irina Vladimirovna, during the New Year or other holidays.
