This opinion was expressed today at the presentation of albums from the "Encyclopedia of Rarities" series in Vitebsk by Tatiana Belova, Director of the Petrus Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia Publishing House, BELTA correspondent reports. "Sometimes, information wars and a barrage of various information fall upon impressionable young minds. A scientific book can help to sort out this information flow by sharing knowledge about the history of the people, thereby contributing to the formation of national identity," said Tatiana Belova. She noted that the publishing house's landmark project, the "Encyclopedia of Rarities," is aimed at these goals. The current year has been declared the Year of the Book. "For publishers, this is a reason to think about how to retain and win back readers from mass culture today. And this primarily depends on the books that will be presented to them," believes the director of the publishing house. It does not matter how readers, including young people, will read books - on netbooks, laptops, or tablets. "The main thing is that the book should appear first, with its material prepared by professionals, and only then will this book reach the readers," concluded Tatiana Belova. In Vitebsk, Tatiana Belova took part in the presentation of the "Encyclopedia of Rarities" series and a new publishing project dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Belarusian statehood, "Polotsk. 1150". The event, organized as part of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" International Arts Festival, was attended by representatives of local authorities, students, writers, and the public of the city.-0-
