The work of utility services most concerns residents of the Vitebsk region - Z. Lomat
March 24, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The majority of issues raised by residents of the Vitebsk region concern the performance of housing and communal services, and this is the main peculiarity of the region, Chairman of the Committee of State Control of Belarus Zenon Lomat told reporters today after a direct line with residents of the region, a BELTA correspondent reports.
"Today there were a lot of questions about capital repairs of housing, repair of roads and streets, which I haven't heard in other regions during direct lines," noted Zenon Lomat. An analysis of the situation shows that many problems that concern residents of the Vitebsk region and other regions arise as a result of serious shortcomings of local authorities, he believes. For example, a call was received from the Postavy district stating that unplanned cottage construction is underway on the shores of lakes, and there are instances of violation of land legislation in the Braslav district. Residents of the districts are also concerned about social issues regarding assistance from rural executive committees. If an executive committee does not have the resources, it is necessary to seek solutions from higher authorities, but not to ignore such appeals, the head of the CSC is convinced.
Many issues are related to the improper executive discipline of civil servants who are responsible for certain areas of activity. "We will also sort things out here and restore order," warned Zenon Lomat.
Among the calls received during the direct line, the Chairman of the CSC also highlighted an appeal regarding the situation and development prospects of the "Vitebsk" hockey club. Zenon Lomat promised to address the problems and find possible ways to provide assistance.
In total, during the 2.5-hour direct line, the head of the CSC answered questions from more than 40 residents of the Vitebsk region, over 3,000 attempts to get through were registered, including more than 2,000 from the districts of the region. In addition, operators received 30 telephone appeals, and about 50 questions were received in writing. All appeals will be considered and taken under control, emphasized Zenon Lomat. In cases where problems can be resolved, this will be done. -0-
