Work on the development of the Orsha region should be carried out at a higher pace - Natalia Kochanova

The work on the development of the Orsha district and the assimilation of resources allocated for the implementation of measures should be carried out at a higher pace. This was stated by the Head of the Presidential Administration, Natalya Kochanova, in Orsha, summarizing the results of the extraordinary field meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee on the development of the Orsha district.

"Heads of various authorities should not rely on each other. Everyone must fully realize the extent of their responsibility," Natalya Kochanova emphasized. In this regard, she proposed to analyze the results of the work again in a month, "during this time there should be significant progress."

According to the Head of the Presidential Administration, a major meeting on the development of cities with a population of over 80 thousand people will be held in September. The chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee will be the first to report on how the program for the development of the district is being implemented and the tasks set are being solved. "Because such support measures and a program have been adopted for the Orsha district that are not available in any other regions. We want to show by its example how these preferences work. However, to date, there is nothing to show that would serve as a vivid example for other cities. The expected result has not yet been achieved, the pace of investment assimilation is insignificant," said Natalya Kochanova. She urged leaders at all levels to make maximum efforts in solving the tasks set and emphasized that the instructions given by the head of state in agriculture, for fodder procurement, silage pits, land improvement, the industrial complex and other areas, must be fully implemented. Along with this, the Head of the Presidential Administration noted that some progress in landscaping, increasing profits, and other areas is already noticeable. "But the adopted subprograms must be implemented at a faster pace. For some reason, there is still some rocking. This is unacceptable, there should be no procrastination in such matters. In my opinion, this is simply the shortcomings of the leaders or, if these are communal enterprises, - local authorities, if republican - then

republican. As for the latter, we are monitoring all projects, but unfortunately, the pace of implementation is not satisfactory," Natalya Kochanova stated.

Participants of the meeting paid special attention to the issue of staff outflow. Organizations in the Orsha district employed 584 fewer people in January-May than were dismissed. "We need to work with people. If they have a decent salary, working conditions, and appropriate attitude, no one will leave. We have many good examples, including among young people who are interested in working when they have housing and comfortable living conditions. But this issue needs to be addressed," said the Head of the Presidential Administration.

The Manager of Affairs of the President, Viktor Sheiman, gave his assessment of the implementation of Decree No. 506 "On the Development of the Orsha District of the Vitebsk Region" for the past period. "Organizations in the district received Br26.9 million in net profit in January-April. Sales profitability was 6.8%. At the same time, it is premature to talk about the effectiveness of economic growth. Every fourth enterprise in industry has negative profitability, and every second one in agriculture does. The number of loss-making organizations has increased," Viktor Sheiman stated.
