Employees of the Vitebsk Culture Center celebrated their professional holiday
– We are used to organizing holidays for others, but it turned out to be not so easy to organize one for ourselves, – admitted Gleb Lapitsky, General Director of the Vitebsk Culture Center, who decided to give his colleagues a break for the occasion and act as the host himself.

The leading ensemble of the Philharmonic, the symphony orchestra under the direction of Vladimir Belyavsky, volunteered to accompany him and took a place of honor on the stage.
– When I was invited to the celebration at the Vitebsk Culture Center, I didn't hesitate. I wanted to personally thank the team, which does a lot to create the image of our region. People coming from other regions and countries note the special atmosphere of Vitebsk. The city stands out for its culture, as well as the politeness and intelligence of its residents. And this aura has been formed thanks to the employees of the spiritual sphere – the sphere of culture, – Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin addressed the attendees.
The head of the region noted the team's significant work in organizing the "Slavianski Bazaar," which has become a brand not only for Vitebsk but for all of Belarus.

– I can confidently say, and numerous festival guests confirm this, that Vitebsk holds a leading position in the list of world cultural capitals, – added Alexander Subbotin, wishing the team inexhaustible sparkling ideas that adorn life, and presented a Certificate of Appreciation from the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee to Lyudmila Pimenova, Chief Engineer of the Vitebsk Culture Center, and Olga Golubtsova, Chief Artist-Designer.

Regional authorities pay great attention to culture, investing considerable funds in improving the material and technical base. In particular, the Vitebsk Concert Hall is being renovated, which will soon acquire a modern look and adorn the festival capital.
Ekaterina Kotova, methodologist of the cultural and mass events department, received a commendation from the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus. Pyotr Podgursky, head of the culture department of the regional executive committee, presenting this award, as well as honorary diplomas of the department, noted that the Vitebsk Cultural Center is the best club-type institution (which is its official status) in the region.

“Not a single major event is held without the participation of the creative teams of the Cultural Center. And the audience always thanks them very much,” Pyotr Podgursky emphasized.
The most active part of the team received awards from the Vitebsk City Executive Committee and the City Council of Deputies, and the regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Cultural, Information, Sports and Tourism Workers.

As part of the pre-holiday meeting, young specialists who joined the friendly creative team, which employs over 200 people, were honored.
Vera Chashchikhina, head of the cultural and mass events department, who came to the Vitebsk Cultural Center in 1978, addressed the newcomers. Her work record shows only one place of employment, although initially it was the City House of Culture.
“And it became a home for me. All these years I have experienced the joy of communicating with creative people. I wish the young people to find pleasure in the work to which they have dedicated themselves. Do it with love, and then everything will be wonderful,” the “dean” of the cultural institution advised the youth and, to the sounds of the orchestra, presented commemorative souvenirs.

– Whether by chance or with intent, the musicians played a melody from the film "Mission: Impossible," but I am convinced that both young specialists and those for whom the Vitebsk Culture Center has long been a home away from home will continue to successfully fulfill their mission, – Gleb Lapitsky summarized and invited everyone to the "Cultural Harvest Festival" exhibition.
Cultural workers approach everything creatively. Different branches, and there are eight of them in the institution, departments demonstrated their achievements in gardening and culinary arts. Someone grew a meter-long zucchini, someone – multi-colored beans, someone made a cottage cheese pancake fortress. Those who wished could taste "Autumn Mead," school cookies, apple pie, and cherry compote.
Thus, the holiday was celebrated solemnly, cheerfully, and deliciously at the Vitebsk Culture Center. And on the Day of Cultural Workers, which falls on Sunday, October 9, they will create a festive mood for the residents and guests of the city with a unique creative aura.
