The distribution of future doctors took place at VGMU. Minister of Health Dmitry Pinevich took part in the commission's work

Medical universities account for about 30% of Belarus's educational services export, as reported to journalists by Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich before the distribution of graduates at Vitebsk State Medical University.

The task of medical universities is practice-oriented training. This year, young specialists are graduating who, at least in their senior years, studied under new programs. These include comprehensive exams and approaches to assessing theoretical knowledge, so specialists come with a slightly different level of knowledge, although their basic skills have always been high. "Medical universities are in demand not only among Belarusians but also among foreigners. Our four universities and the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Studies account for about 30% of the country's educational services export. This indicates the quality of specialist training," said Dmitry Pinevich.

Nevertheless, in this field, one cannot lag behind modern trends, so a new simulation center is being established at VSMU, and there are ideas for creating university clinics. These issues, along with postgraduate education, are relevant to the personnel training system.

Today, Vitebsk Medical University is holding the final distribution of graduates. 673 graduates will be sent to their first jobs, 245 of whom actively worked with COVID-19 in hospitals and clinics. This factor, as well as scientific achievements and high average grades, are decisive in the distribution process. At BSMU and the Grodno university, the preferences of graduates who worked with coronavirus diseases were taken into account. "The students showed themselves well in working with COVID-19 patients. This has been a huge professional experience for them," the minister added.
