August 11, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Extended fairs for the sale of school supplies will be held in the Vitebsk region on August 20 and 27, BELTA was informed by the trade and services department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

Fairs will be organized in all major cities, district centers of the region and Vitebsk. In the latter, they will be held on the lower terrace of the Summer Amphitheater. More than 40 business entities will present a wide range of stationery, clothing and other products here. All events will be accompanied by various contests and performances by creative teams of cultural and educational institutions.

Trade in school supplies is already actively underway in all regions of the region, the trade department noted. At the same time, for the period of preparation of schoolchildren for the new academic year, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee issued a decree limiting trade markups on school supplies to 25%. Many retail enterprises have tried to show loyalty to customers by organizing various promotions and not applying the maximum markups even within the established limits. For example, the House of Trade in Orsha set trade markups for large families at 13%. Discounts on the purchase of goods are provided by a number of stores in Vitebsk, Novopolotsk and other cities.

In total, there are more than 30 permanent school bazaars operating in the cities and district centers of the region. Trade enterprises are fully provided with the entire necessary range of school supplies. According to estimates, equipping a junior student this season will cost Vitebsk residents from Br430 thousand to Br1.1 million, and high school students - from Br520 thousand to Br1.2 million.-0-
