Housing and communal services expenditures in the budgets of rural executive committees of the Vitebsk region increased by 12% in 2010
February 22, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Expenses on housing and communal services in the budgets of rural and settlement executive committees of the Vitebsk region in 2010 increased by 12% compared to 2009, Chairman of the regional council Alexander Atyasov informed today at an expanded meeting of the presidium of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, a BELTA correspondent reports.
In the structure of primary budgets for the current year, expenses for the housing and communal services sector amount to Br19.1 billion, or 47%. Br11.2 billion is planned to be allocated for the improvement of settlements. This item includes the maintenance and repair of street roads, and lighting of settlements.
Alexander Atyasov noted that in 2009, rural and settlement councils managed to save almost Br1 billion due to the rational use of electricity for street lighting. During 2008-2009, special time relays were installed in all rural settlements, which allowed automatic regulation of lighting depending on the time of day. For these purposes, about Br840 million was allocated from regional and local budgets over two years.
The revenue side of the primary level budgets of the region for 2010 was formed in the amount of Br40.5 billion, of which own and assigned revenues account for 70%. -0-
