The size of the election fund for presidential contenders is limited to 9 thousand B.U. This was discussed today at a meeting of the Central Election Commission of Belarus.

The Central Election Commission has approved the regulations on the election fund of a person nominated as a presidential candidate, and a presidential candidate during the 2020 elections. The amount cannot exceed 9 thousand basic units, or Br243 thousand, considering that one B.U. is currently Br27.

This fund is formed by the contender for the highest state post from their own funds. Voluntary donations from legal entities and citizens are also possible. The size of their contributions is also limited - 50 (Br1350) and 20 B.U. (Br540).

The maximum amount of all expenses from the election fund should not exceed 9 thousand basic units.

In order to form the fund, a presidential candidate opens a special election account at Belagroprombank.
