May 3, Minsk /Elena Prus - BELTA/. In Belarus, the amounts of state benefits for families raising children have increased by 4.3% since May of this year, the main department of employment policy and population of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection informed a BELTA correspondent. This is due to the approval of a new subsistence minimum budget per capita (this standard from May 1 to July 31, 2010 is Br266,230). Thus, from May 1 of the current year, the monthly child care allowance until the child reaches the age of three is Br266,230, and for children older than three - Br79,870. The lump-sum benefit for the birth of the first child has reached Br1,331,150, and for the birth of the second and subsequent children, Belarusian families will receive Br1,863,610. The lump-sum benefit for a woman who registered with a state healthcare organization before the 12th week of pregnancy has been Br266,230 since May of this year. In Belarus, the state benefits system covers almost 450,000 boys and girls under the age of 18 (25.2% of the country's child population). This year, the amounts of child benefits have already been revised due to an increase in the subsistence minimum budget from February 1. -0-
