April 27, Orsha / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. A strategy for the technical re-equipment of the Republican Unitary Production and Trade Enterprise "Orsha Linen Mill" for the period 2010-2012 has been developed. This was announced today to journalists by the general director of the linen mill, Vladimir Nesterenko, reports a BELTA correspondent. The strategy provides for the complete technical re-equipment of four existing factories, as well as the construction of another one - a weaving and spinning mill. According to preliminary estimates, the total investment volume is estimated at Br500 billion. The strategy will be submitted to the Council of Ministers for consideration in the near future. Work on the modernization of the Orsha Linen Mill began in 2007. Last year, Br53 billion was allocated from the budget for the technical re-equipment of the mill, which allowed for the expansion of the range of blended fabrics, the start of production of denim-type fabric, and the expansion of the color palette. The Orsha Linen Mill is the only enterprise in the republic for the production and sale of linen fabrics and other linen products. The enterprise's share in the city's industrial production is 27%, and it employs more than 33% of the total number of people employed in industry. The linen mill includes five factories, and the process of producing linen fabrics involves about 100 technological processes. The enterprise is carrying out technical re-equipment of production, and new technological equipment is being installed. The depreciation of fixed assets for the linen mill as a whole is 56.6%. By the beginning of 2012, due to re-equipment, it is planned that equipment depreciation will decrease to 32.3%. -0-
