Development of the private sector will allow Belarus to maintain the social orientation of the economy - senator
December 3, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The development of entrepreneurial initiative will allow Belarus to maintain the social orientation of its economy. This conviction was expressed in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent by Nikolai Martynov, General Director of SOOO "Marko", member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, and participant of the Fourth All-Belarusian People's Congress, commenting on the draft main provisions of the country's socio-economic development program for 2011-2015.
According to Nikolai Martynov, the state has chosen the right path of development, abandoning shock therapy and building a socially oriented economy. "The Scandinavian model of social protection is most acceptable for Belarus," he is confident.
However, for the social sphere to be strengthened, a stably functioning economy is necessary. The draft country development plan proposed for consideration by the participants of the All-Belarusian Congress defines the main priorities, including support for private initiative. "The very fact that the state recognizes the entrepreneur as a player in the economic field is evidence that the middle class in the country will develop," believes Nikolai Martynov.
At the same time, successful business is not only a source of replenishment of the state budget, but also an opportunity for Belarus to integrate more quickly into the world economy. "If the country implements the tasks set by the project, it will merge into the world economy," said Nikolai Martynov. -0-
