The development of medical and wellness tourism in the Vitebsk region was discussed in the Dokshitsy district
The participants of the field meeting did not by chance discuss the latest trends in recreation in Belarusian health resorts in the Dokshitsy district. Today, the occupancy of sanatorium and resort institutions in the Vitebsk region is one of the best in Belarus, and export revenue from services in the first half of the year increased by more than a third compared to last year, specialists note. People are booking places for the velvet season and for the New Year holidays.
Experts and participants of the event familiarized themselves with the material and technical base of the sanatorium, which is located in a pine forest on the shore of a picturesque lake in one of the most beautiful and ecologically clean corners of the Vitebsk region. There are no free places here now. Among the vacationers are both Belarusians and foreign citizens. They are attracted not only by the benefits of the local mineral water "Borovaya" but also by the fact that the modern health resort offers its guests up to 200 services, including a unique complex of medical procedures – 7 treatment profiles. By the way, many compare the sanatorium to a trip to the sea because of the pool, the water in which is also mineral.
– Sanatoriums of the Vitebsk region are dynamically developing, equipped with the most modern medical equipment for comprehensive treatment, diagnostics, and health improvement of the population, – said Snezhana Titova, head of the representative office of the Vitebsk regional department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population. – Considerable funds are allocated annually to strengthen the material and technical base, and new treatment methods are introduced that are adapted to the current realities. Thus, in the first half of 2022, 1.5 million rubles were allocated for these purposes.
Obvious changes thanks to this were felt, for example, by the vacationers of the "Lyottsy" sanatorium. Work has been carried out here to create a barrier-free environment: building No. 2 now has a room for disabled and physically weak individuals, and three ramps have been equipped for their movement around the sanatorium, and the paths have been brought to ground level. Currently, one of the dormitory buildings is undergoing reconstruction, where it is planned to create two rooms for disabled and physically weak individuals, install ramps, and an elevator. The project also provides for the conversion of double rooms into improved single rooms.
At the State Unitary Enterprise "Zhemchuzhina Children's Rehabilitation and Health Resort Center," the water deferrization station has been modernized using its own funds since the beginning of the current year. Computer complex "Reakor" training with biofeedback has been introduced into the service list, and a methodology for modeling algae wraps has been developed.
In response to the challenges of the time, sanatoriums in the region have developed treatment and rehabilitation programs for patients who have had pneumonia complicated by coronavirus infection, respiratory diseases, allergies, ENT pathology, frequent ARVI, skin diseases, etc. New modern SPA programs are actively being developed and implemented.
Currently, almost all sanatorium and resort organizations in Vitebsk region are filled to 100% capacity. Health resort treatment in the region is also attractive to foreign guests. Out of more than 37 thousand people who visited sanatoriums since the beginning of 2022, 7.6 thousand were foreign citizens from many corners of the globe, but the largest number of tourists are from the Russian Federation (about 95%).
During the meeting of the working group of the interdepartmental expert and coordination council, the director of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, Gennady Bolbatovsky, noted that positive results are observed in the work of the industry both in the region and in the country as a whole. The task is to reach the pre-pandemic level of activity.
There are 11 sanatorium and resort organizations, 7 certified health resort organizations, and 3 student health resort dispensaries located in the Vitebsk region.
