Registration of candidates for the post of President of Belarus will begin on September 6

The presidential elections in Belarus have been scheduled for October 11. This decision was made on June 30 at a meeting of the lower house of parliament. From this moment, the countdown to the election campaign began, which, as predicted by the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission Lidia Yermoshina, will not be boring, but will pass without upheavals.

Yesterday, the Central Election Commission approved the calendar plan for organizational measures for the preparation and conduct of the elections. In particular, regional authorities must decide by July 17 where the collection of signatures for the nomination of candidates will be prohibited. In all other places, picketing is allowed. The signature collection itself will take place from July 23 to August 21, and candidate registration from September 6 to September 15.
