This task was set today at a meeting of the working group for the improvement of the regional center by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets, BELTA correspondent reports. The entire scope of work is divided into three stages. The first stage of landscaping the square should be completed by May 9 of this year, the second - by Independence Day. The third stage, the main one, should be completed by the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory, which is celebrated next year. According to the chief architect of Vitebsk, Vitaly Dubik, the main city Christmas tree will be installed on the square in winter, and at other times cultural and entertainment events and concerts will be held there. It is planned to purchase a mobile covered stage, which will be used not only for celebrations in the regional center, but also for holidays in other cities and district centers of the region. Concerts on Victory Square will be broadcast on five LED screens installed along the perimeter. Thus, each of the 250-300 thousand people who can fit here will be able to calmly enjoy the show. For the safety and convenience of residents, the square will be made on one level. To the left of it, up to Zhestkova Street, a parking lot will be located. The issue of which of the houses to install the city name with the founding date and coat of arms is being resolved. The main decoration of the center of Vitebsk will be light and music and cascade fountains. Green spaces, primarily thuja trees, blue spruces, roses, and original lighting, will also give it a festive look, noted Vitaly Dubik. Currently, the sketch and architectural projects for the reconstruction of the square are ready, the design and estimate documentation is being developed, and the necessary amount of funds is being calculated. -0-
