Road repairs, housing and communal services, and employment issues – Anatoly Linevich held a reception for citizens in Novopolotsk
In total, about three dozen appeals were received during the reception. A resident of Novopolotsk remotely complained about a road in the village of Kanashi damaged by heavy trucks. A villager from the village of Karpinino approached with a similar problem, reporting the poor condition of the road surface, which had not been repaired for several decades. The woman also highlighted the need to establish a regular public transport route from Polotsk to this settlement, which is particularly relevant during the summer period.
A villager from the village of Shumatanki personally decided to meet with Anatoly Linevich to outline the main problems of his settlement, which currently has a population of three people.
– The road to the village is broken, and the mobile shop rarely visits, – the man shared, asking for assistance. His appeal has been registered.
A pensioner from the village of Slaveni, Ushachi District, spoke about the need to tidy up the local cemetery, where, among others, veterans of the Great Patriotic War are buried. Anatoly Linevich assured the woman that the site would be improved.
Issues related to housing and communal services were also common during the reception of citizens' appeals. For example, a resident of the regional center from Vitebsk came to Novopolotsk to report on three flooded entrances in her building on Vastretsova Street. A mother of many children from Orsha appealed regarding low temperatures in her apartment, and a resident of Novopolotsk complained about insufficient hot water heating in her building. Another resident of Novopolotsk, living in building No. 171 on Molodezhnaya Street, spoke during the meeting about the communal problems of her multi-story building and yard. The woman is convinced that general systemic shortcomings lead to poor quality housing and communal services in people's apartments, including her own. "I understand your issue, and we will look into it. We will do what we can," assured Anatoly Linevich, instructing local authorities to conduct an inspection on this matter and then hold a meeting with the residents.
"Housing and communal services issues are traditional at receptions. As a rule, they are always raised. An investigation will be conducted into each fact received today to resolve the problems that concern people," Anatoly Linevich emphasized at the end of the reception.
Employment-related appeals from citizens also proved to be a relevant topic during the reception with the President's Aide this time. For instance, an employee of KUP ZhREO of Novopolotsk city sustained a work-related injury in 2020, after which she was assigned a Group 3 disability. She is currently on sick leave. The woman came to the reception with the President's Aide due to concerns about her future employment, considering her health condition and partial loss of working capacity. After discussing the situation with the enterprise's management, the woman was offered a watchman vacancy. Similar appeals from other applicants have been taken under control.
"Employment opportunities are provided equally to everyone today. Vacancies are available in various specialties. Employment commissions are operating and ready to provide full assistance. They are active in every region of the oblast. Another issue concerns the personal responsibility of each individual. Their readiness to make a choice," the President's Aide emphasized.
Several inquiries received during today's reception highlighted the importance of vigilance and critical assessment of advertising information. Two residents of Novopolotsk fell victim to fraudsters due to excessive credulity. The women lost their savings after contacting Moscow psychics whose services were advertised on the "Vector" TV channel. Another local pensioner succumbed to the persuasion of a representative of a Vitebsk firm, who deceitfully convinced the elderly woman to install a water filter at an inflated price. She managed to obtain a court decision to return the lost funds. However, recovering the debt is proving difficult, as formally no property is registered to the firm's director.
An elderly resident of Novopolotsk sought help with a problem of domestic violence and tyranny. The woman spoke about the psychological and physical pressure exerted on her daughter and granddaughter by her ex-husband, aiming to force them out of their jointly owned apartment. In her opinion, the police are handling the issue formally, despite the man having been brought to administrative responsibility six times previously. "This is a complex issue. Local authorities have been instructed to pay close attention to this family and thoroughly investigate," added Anatoly Linevich.
