Renovation of social facilities and construction of townhouses. What will change in Bogushevsk within the framework of the urban settlement improvement program?
– The comprehensive plan consists of approximately 40 items. Its development took into account the proposals and wishes of local residents. Implementation began last year with the reconstruction of the senior building of Bogushevsk Secondary School, when old windows were replaced with energy-saving ones. Repairs at the educational institution are ongoing.
In general, the renovation will affect social sphere facilities, the street and road network, and engineering infrastructure. In particular, modernization of several boiler houses is planned, funds have been allocated for the thermal rehabilitation of the children's art school building, and the House of Culture and kindergarten will be repaired.
The stadium and central park will be transformed, where we will install small architectural forms and additional children's playgrounds. We hope that the hospital inpatient facility will become as comfortable for patients and staff as the polyclinic building, which was reconstructed in 2010.
Fences will be replaced on the central streets. In the third quarter, railway workers promise to repair the track of a 50-meter crossing located in the center of the urban settlement on the republican highway Bogushevsk – Senno – Myadel, which has eight tracks.
Vasily Anatolyevich Cherednik, Chairman of the Sennensky District Executive Committee, initiated the construction of a sports ground with artificial turf and an outdoor gym. We are looking for additional sources of funding and hope for sponsorship support for the repair of the gym in the junior building of the school, so that both children and adults can train in better conditions.
We are also not forgetting about the elderly – the building of the Bogushevsk branch of the Sennensky Territorial Center for Social Services needs roof repairs and grounds improvement.
Bohushevsk desperately needs sidewalks, especially on streets with social facilities. Therefore, special attention is paid to pedestrian paths when planning the reconstruction of the road network. A project is being developed to loop the water supply network to provide all residents of the urban settlement with clean water that has passed through an iron removal station. Repairs to equipment and replacement of pipes in certain sections are also planned.
– Is the housing stock included in the program?
– Absolutely. Two apartment buildings are awaiting major repairs, and the rest will undergo current repairs.
We have about 80 families, including nine large families, on the waiting list for housing improvement. This is a considerable number for Bohushevsk. We need an apartment building. However, the problem is that the urban settlement lacks a centralized sewage system, and the existing treatment facilities are of insufficient capacity and require reconstruction. As a solution, we propose the construction of townhouses.
Two-story houses, built using industrial methods, have common walls, roofs, and utilities. Each owner has a separate entrance, their own lawn, and a parking space.
But the main advantage is that the cost of such housing will be significantly lower for the owner compared to individual housing. Recently, we held a meeting with large families, and invited specialists from "Belarusbank," who informed people about state support for housing construction. Four families have already submitted applications expressing their consent. In the townhouses, we would like to include several units for a reserve rental fund to provide it to young specialists.
– Besides housing, people need jobs.
– The number of registered unemployed people is small. We help everyone who wishes to find employment. I would like to thank the Committee for Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Regional Executive Committee for allocating funds for paid public works. With this money, we are improving the settlements of the village council and simultaneously giving citizens registered with the employment center an opportunity to earn money. In parallel, we are looking for permanent employment for them.
This year, a considerable sum has been allocated to us by the employment center for the repair of fencing on the central streets of Богушевск.
Year after year, the woodworking enterprise "Milkonforest" with Serbian capital expands its production base. Currently, more than 80 people, including women, work in warm, modern workshops. "Sovkhoz named after Masherov," which is part of the Vitebsk integration structure, has held job fairs several times.
KBO "Prestige" needs seamstresses. The Богушевск forestry is actively developing. By opening retail outlets, our entrepreneurs create jobs. We are ready to offer unused facilities and all possible assistance to potential investors. Богушевск has a convenient geographical location. There is a reserve of labor resources – nearby villages and rural councils.
