REPORT: In Vitebsk, a grand concert and demonstration performances by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs were organized for schoolchildren on Knowledge Day
After a hot summer vacation, the boys and girls of Vitebsk set off on a journey through the school planet again on September 1. Their path began in the Summer Amphitheater, where the traditional concert "Hello, School Planet! We are from Autumn to Summer" took place. Teachers will ensure that students gain good knowledge. It is also important to ensure the safety of every child during the school year. This is a priority for prevention entities. They will talk about how to behave in any emergency situation as part of the "Unified Safety Day" campaign, which started today and will last for ten days.
– Today you are taking another step into the future. It is important that it is filled with good knowledge that will help you overcome any difficulties, – said the head of the regional Department of Emergency Situations, Sergey Meleshkin. – The Unified Safety Day campaign is aimed at drawing the attention of children and their parents to those emergency situations that can happen to anyone at home or on the street.
The best creative groups of the regional center created a good mood for all guests of the event.
Thematic zones were set up near the Summer Amphitheatre, where visitors could learn about the five steps of rescue, how an autonomous fire alarm works, solve the "112" code, play fire lotto and checkers, and even try on a rescuer's combat uniform. Employees of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Regional Executive Committee informed children about traffic rules. Employees of UP "Vitebskoblgaz" and the State Institution "State Energy and Gas Supervision" told about what can happen if gas leaks. Servicemen of the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade introduced the children to military service.
The bravest boys and girls tested their courage on the attractions. For example, wearing special equipment, they went into a tent filled with smoke and rescued a simulated victim. Lovers of great heights participated in the "Climber" attraction, where they had to climb a height using special equipment and boxes.
The prevention entities not only explained but also demonstrated what happens if safety rules are not followed. They showed how the pursuit and apprehension of dangerous criminals hiding in a car takes place, how to extinguish a burning car, and how to provide first aid to victims.
