Republican sanitary squad competitions will be held on August 13 in Novopolotsk

August 12, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. Republican competitions of civil defense sanitary units will be held on August 13 in Novopolotsk, the regional emergency situations department informed a BELTA correspondent. The tournament is being held for the fourth time and will bring together representatives of seven teams from all regions, who won qualifying rounds in their respective areas. To determine the strongest, the teams, each consisting of 14 people, will have to pass tests in five stages. Initially, the judging panel will check the equipment of the sanitary units and the personnel's ability to use their gear. Then, volunteers will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in providing first aid for combined casualties (various injuries and other damages), their ability to work with victims in a chemical contamination zone, as well as to act in an infectious contamination zone. The final stage will be a check of the theoretical knowledge of the sanitary unit personnel. Based on the results of the tests, the best sanitary unit in Belarus will be determined, which will receive a cup and a valuable prize as an award. In addition, the organizers have established incentive prizes for the best sanitary link and the best commander of a sanitary unit. The main goals of the competition are to improve the theoretical and practical training of civil defense sanitary units of enterprises and organizations, to check the readiness of the units for action in case of various emergencies, and to disseminate best practices in training such units. The competition is organized by the Ministry of Emergency Situations with the support of the voluntary republican public association "Belarusian Red Cross Society" and BFSO "Dynamo".-0-
